OCC Middle East
Shoe box gifts were first distributed in the Middle East in 1995. Since then, 1,603,981 children in the region have received a gift. In the 2011-2012 season, more than 151,000 gifts will be delivered to children in the region.
It is encouraging to hear from church partners in the Middle East as they faithfully minister to children and their families in spite of all the challenges and dangers they face.
Christian leaders continue to take a stand for Christ, realizing that the message of hope contained in each shoe box gift makes an eternal impact on a child’s life.

Jesus Will Take Care of Him
A volunteer reported: “John, a child refugee, received a box and was very excited and overjoyed. He said now he knows Jesus will take care of him because he received items that he needed and wanted.”
Gift of Peace
“Stella and Sarah were fearful sisters due to the bombings in their neighborhoods. They came to school but remained separate from the other children and were always cowering at their desks. After they received their Christmas boxes they became very happy and now they play with the other children and show off their new belongings and take part in class lessons.”
PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for the local volunteers as they prepare to receive the gift boxes and “Greatest Gift of All" booklets.
Please pray for protection and wisdom for the churches in light of all the challenges caused by the new movement in the whole region.
Please pray for each refugee child who will receive a gift box and booklet this season. Pray that the love of Christ would grip their hearts and turn them to the Father.
Please pray that the dramatic events and changes taking place all over the region will lead to the expansion of the Kingdom of God.
Pray for the volunteer National Leadership Teams of the Middle East region this season. Pray for shipments, team meetings and planning, prayer support, and successful upcoming gift distributions.
