Video Editor/Broadcast (1030)

Boone, NC - We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, Editor to join our production team. This is not an entry-level position. We are a full HD Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Server, Avid DS, XSAN production facility. The Editor will have the ability to successfully execute ideas both independently and as part of a team under creative direction. Ideal candidate will be a good storyteller able to edit and stylize assigned commercials, stories, segments, promos, etc.; Brainstorm with Creative Director, social media writers, editors, gfx designers and other team producers to best achieve creative and messaging goals of assigned projects. A critical thinker who continues to embrace new technology and workflows; to multi-task and exercise project management skills using professional video equipment and editing techniques that portrays the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse in a way that meets professional broadcast standards. A Bachelor’s degree (BA) in a related field and/or 2+ years of industry experience is required. Job Requirements:
• Highly proficient and innovative editor with a working knowledge of After Effects, Premiere, Motion, Compressor, After Effects, Photoshop. Design experience a plus.
• Able to do color correction and online finishing with at least a working knowledge of various plug-ins like Magic Bullet, Keylight, and Sapphire.
• Familiar with multiple file formats and frame rates (both SD and HD) and related test equipment for digital video and audio.
• Proactive problem solving with the ability to work unsupervised at times and make creative and responsible decisions that will help deliver content on time with minimal errors.
• Experience with video encoding for the Internet and an understanding of how digital media is managed and archived.
• The position involves small amount field editing and media management with domestic and some international travel required.

Senior Web Designer / Communications (750)

Boone, NC - We’re looking for a top notch, self-motivated Senior Web Designer to work on a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. You will provide design leadership in building new sites while providing great layouts and front-end coding for all of Samaritan’s Purse’s digital communication needs. The senior web designer will utilize key design principles & industry standards to ensure clear navigation, GUI, content design & ease of use for target audience. Regional Manager, West & Southern Africa (1042)

Boone, NC - Samaritan’s Purse International Projects department is hiring for the position of Regional Manager for West and Southern Africa. Seeking a dynamic individual who has a heart to help meet the spiritual and physical needs of the people of West and Southern Africa.

The Regional Manager for West and Southern Africa will support two Regional Directors and help them develop, implement, and maintain Samaritan’s Purse project activity in West and Southern Africa. They will provide continuity in programmatic activity and make decisions consistent with organizational priorities in cooperation with either Regional Director. The position is based at Samaritan’s Purse International headquarters in Boone, NC, but will require occasional overseas travel to visit our country offices in the region. In addition, the Regional Manager will assist in assessment of projects, ensuring policy compliance, communicating with field staff, reporting of field activities, overseeing of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws, compiling records, and working with the human resource department to maintain staffing levels in the field offices.

The ideal candidate should possess:
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant field/ministry experience in the regions.
• History of successful management and administration.
• Outstanding communication and diplomatic ability.
• Knowledge of the political climate, socioeconomic status, religious context and social norms for the nations that populate the regions.

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required, masters or equivalent experience preferred.

Language Skills:
• English fluency required.

Cook- Port Alsworth, Alaska (1049)

Port Alsworth, Alaska - The Cook will assist the Chef with daily preparation of meals for guests, staff and volunteers at the Samaritan Lodge, a project to minister to wounded veterans and their families.

Duties include:
• Reviews menus and food orders and maintains food to serve the guests, staff and volunteers.
• Maintains the kitchen and equipment in a clean manner.
• Cooks and cleans kitchen and dining hall.
• In case of emergency, follows protocol which will be established by the Facilities Manager.
• Is familiar with all Samaritan's Purse staff members. Greets all guests, staff and visitors where practical, and directs the assistants as needed in the kitchen.
• Assists Chef or Head Cook with organizing the menus and times for serving and preparing the meals and snacks.
• Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan’s Purse as set forth in the Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers.
• Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, staff and the general public.

Qualifications:
• Previous food preparation experience;
• Ability to provide meals to groups of 20-40 people;
• Ability to work long hours, preparing meals three times per day, seven days per week;
• Ability to live in a remote Alaskan Village setting with no road access;

Bio-Medical Technician / World Medical Mission (1017)

Boone, NC - Samaritan’s Purse’s World Medical Mission is seeking a Bio-Medical Technician to provide in-house and field technical biomedical service and support to enhance the ministry of medical mission facilities and projects around the world.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Screens, repairs, and calibrates medical equipment in house.
2. Assists in proper record keeping, including inventory, pricing, preparing and cataloging technical documentation on medical equipment, and the status on all projects.
3. Evaluates equipment offered by donors for acceptability and coordinates shipping, or pick-up if needed.
4. Assists in packing medical equipment and all needed accessories for shipment.
5. Travels to mission hospitals or Samaritan’s Purse project sites to evaluate, install, service, and provide training on medical equipment.
6. Purges equipment inventory of outdated or inappropriate items.
7. Assists with processing and tracking of all overseas medical equipment and supply shipments.
8. Provides technical support for project sites in the area of alternative energy.

Qualified candidates should be proficient in the maintenance, repair and installation of medical equipment. Position requires Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in biomedical services, or US military training in medical electronics, and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in imaging systems and information technology is preferred. International travel is required.
