Samaritan's Purse launched a five-day campaign in March to raise enough support to drill five wells for struggling families in South Sudan. We thought 5 Wells in 5 Days was a challenging goal. But God proved to be much bigger than our vision. He moved in the hearts of our donors, and we met the goal on the first day. Before noon on the second day, the total doubled. Rather than set a new goal, we thought we should let Him set the number and see what happened by the end of the week. We are amazed and thankful at the final total of over $240,000--nearly five times the original goal! The new wells can transform entire communities and reach those in need with clean water and the promise of a new life in Jesus Christ.

Volunteers Needed for Humanitarian Emergency Advanced Response Training

Samaritan's Purse is conducting the first intensive graduate level humanitarian aid course designed and implemented by non-governmental organization practitioners for practitioners and taught from a Christian perspective. The course is designed to train international relief workers in technical skills needed during disaster response and to provide them with an overview of humanitarian aid. Training will include pre-readings, lectures by experts, group tabletop exercises, field exercise, and live full-scale simulations with role players. The course is designed for students who have completed Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Assistance Response Team 201 Training, demonstrated an identified capacity in disaster relief, and served on at least one previous DART with Samaritan’s Purse or has worked as Samaritan’s Purse international field staff for a minimum of six months. We need volunteers to play the roles of victims to help relief workers know what to do when a disaster happens. Volunteering will give you a glimpse into the life of a victim, a picture of Samaritan’s Purse response, and a chance to train some of the top relief workers. Samaritan Lodge Alaska- Operation Heal Our Patriots

July 03, 2012 - Six wounded Army heroes and their spouses recently spent time at Samaritan Lodge Alaska enjoying outdoor activities surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Alaska wilderness. The couples enjoyed a time of relaxation and rejuvenation, while focusing on each other and strengthening their marriages. During the week, an amputee and his wife climbed a mountain peak, a wounded Army sergeant was baptized in Lake Clark, and all the couples enjoyed a time of bonding and sharing stories around the fire pit at night. Operation Heal Our Patriots: First Attendees

July 03, 2012 - The first group of wounded military personnel and spouses to visit Samaritan Lodge Alaska enjoyed fishing, hiking, and the beautiful Alaska scenery. Most of all, they appreciated the opportunity to get away for a week and to spend time with each other. They had the opportunity to grow closer as a couple while attending marriage enrichment classes.
