Last year, the West Coast region collected 367,610 shoe boxes or better yet, 367,610 opportunities for children and families worldwide to know the Lord. We know God multiplies our efforts, honoring our desire to reflect his light.
The Bible talks of a child-like faith—a belief in Jesus with no reservations or doubts. To children, denying God seems as absurd as denying the sunlight by which they see the world. Sadly, many children continue to live in darkness, stumbling along without knowing the truth and redemption of Jesus Christ.
Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes serve a far greater purpose than giving presents and a moment of joy. Each box initiates a gospel opportunity for a child of God to hear about the good news of Jesus Christ. For many recipients, these shoe boxes ignite their faith, consuming the shadows of their impoverished realities with healing hope.
For more than a decade, Operation Christmas Child has answered the call to share the love of Jesus Christ with hurting children around the world. In 2009, more than 8.1 million shoe box gifts were collected internationally from the United States and 12 other countries. PROCESSING CENTER DOMESTIC MISSIONS OPPORTUNITIES
Join the Operation Christmas Child Staff as a Domestic Missions Team Member. We are seeking partnerships with skilled management staff on a short term basis to work as managers and supervisors at our Orange County, California Processing Center. Participants in our Domestic Missions program must be able to work full time for 4-6 weeks during the months of November and December.
AREA TEAM DEVELOPMENT
At Operation Christmas Child, we organize our volunteer opportunities by Area Teams. By localizing volunteers to their communities, they can focus their efforts on one area. Volunteers can join an existing Area Team or partner with regional staff to develop one if it is not in place. Each coordinator position represents one volunteer position, while team positions have no limit on the number of members.
