What You Can Do

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the statistics—2.1 million people died of AIDS-related illnesses last year.

It’s easy to choose inaction when you feel overwhelmed by the scope of this disease.

But you can be involved. There are ways to make a difference.

Every year people find unique ways to support the work of Samaritan’s Purse—running marathons, hosting pancake breakfasts, organizing benefit concerts. Here are a few ideas to get you started:


  • Set up a prayer wall in your home, church, or office to remember those affected by HIV/AIDS.


  • Host a Home Awareness Night.


  • Focus your next school assignment on HIV/AIDS.


  • Send a mass e-mail or post a message educating your friends about HIV/AIDS.


  • Create an HIV/AIDS-related visual display and look for a campus venue or art gallery to display it.


  • Arrange an event. Invite a speaker or host a Q&A session.


  • Sell things you no longer need and donate the proceeds to Samaritan’s Purse.
