Delivering Shoe Boxes in Swaziland
Students at Cedarville University in Ohio raised more than $20,000 in late January to support Samaritan’s Purse relief efforts following the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
Over the summer, Cedarville’s Joanna Pyles had an encounter with another one of our projects.
Joanna, who is studying nursing at the small Christian college, was part of a group of students who traveled to Swaziland to participate in medical missions with a ministry called The Luke Commission.
Toward the end of the trip, the team traveled to schools deep in the African bush to deliver Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts to children.
“With squeals of excitement, the children opened the only gift they will ever receive in their lifetime,” Joanna said in a story published on the school’s website. “The crowd of children roared with laughter, screamed and shouted ‘Thank you Jesus! Thank you, Jesus!’”
Joanna put together a video of her trip, culminating in the OCC distribution. Click here to watch.
