Our Financial Commitment to You
We promise to use your gifts wisely and effectively in Christ's Name.
Samaritan's Purse is committed to faithful stewardship of funds entrusted to us by donors. We promise to use your gifts wisely and effectively in Christ's Name.
We are committed to fulfilling the following standards:
• We subscribe to a written statement of faith clearly affirming our commitment to the evangelical Christian faith.
• We are governed by a responsible Board, the majority of whom are not staff members or relatives of staff members. The Samaritan's Purse Board meets to establish policies, set budgets, oversee the organization's financial practices, and review ministry accomplishments.
• We obtain an annual audit that is performed by an independent public accounting firm in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), with financial statements prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• We have a functioning audit committee appointed by the Board, the majority of whom are not staff members or the relatives of staff members, for the purpose of reviewing the annual audit and reporting its findings to the Board.
• We provide copies of our current audited financial statements upon written request.
• We seek to conduct our activities with the highest standards of integrity and avoid conflicts of interest.
• Our fund-raising appeals clearly identify the purposes and programs to which donations will be applied, and we ensure that donations are used for the purposes for which they were raised.
Our volunteers give of their time and donate or raise funds to cover the expenses of their mission trips. The Samaritan's Purse Board has established a policy that all contributions designated for a specific project may be assessed up to 10 percent to be used for administrating the gift if needed. We do not use pressure in appealing for funds, and all gifts are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. The auditing firm of Dixon Hughes PLLP annually audits our financial records. Samaritan's Purse is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
In order to help meet the tremendous medical needs in underserved areas around the world, we need more individuals to become involved in praying for our work; contributing funds, equipment, and supplies; and actually serving overseas. We invite you to contact us today to obtain additional details about how you can become involved.
Please call World Medical Mission at (828) 262-1980 if you have any further questions regarding our volunteer opportunities.
