There is Hope
Samaritan’s Purse HIV/AIDS programs provide spiritual and physical care for people impacted by the disease
Samaritan’s Purse continues to respond to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic by reaching out to those who have been infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Working in Cambodia, Mozambique, Kenya, Uganda, Liberia and Honduras, Samaritan’s Purse is focusing on equipping the local church and community to respond in their own communities.
In Mozambique and Kenya, Samaritan’s Purse continues to provide holistic care for children who have been orphaned by AIDS. We help with legal registration, school feels, shelter, medical care, and psychosocial support.
We also provide HIV counseling and testing as a component of many of our programs. When people know their status, they are better equipped to protect and take care of themselves as well as their loved ones. In addition to operating testing centers in cities, we also provide mobile counseling and testing that allows us to reach some of the most vulnerable and remote individuals.
Through our prevention of mother to child transmission program in Kenya, dozens of community health workers have been trained and have provided health messages related to maternal and child health, as well as prevention of mother to child transmission to thousands.
Samaritan’s Purse continues to provide education messages to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, as well as home-based care to people suffering with the disease.
