Assistant Director, Special Initiatives (427)
Boone, NC - The Assistant Director for Special Initiatives will have primarily responsibility for implementing The Greatest Journey (TGJ) major donor strategy, will proactively promote TGJ whenever possible and appropriate, and will manage other special initiatives as the ministry and programs of Samaritan’s Purse evolve over time. This person will serve major donors and inquirers with the highest care, relate as good stewards to the needs, abilities, and desires of people who align with what God has called SP to do and help them to engage with the work of the ministry. This position will nurture and deepen relationships with those who are vitally interested in Samaritan’s Purse and have made or desire to make a major gift.
Desirable candidate will be proven self-starter with successful track record of developing new relationships and building connections with high capacity donors, individuals, churches, and corporate donors. Must have experience in raising $2-5 million or more annually in current gift income, and possess development/marketing/communications experience, training and/or aptitude.
Additional pre-requisites: proven leadership skills; vision for ministry growth; strong commitment to evangelism; effective presentation skills; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities; Bachelors Degree with four to ten years relevant experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
