World Medical Mission, the medical arm of Samaritan’s Purse, places Protestant Christian physicians and dentists for short term assignments at evangelical mission hospitals and clinics around the world.

General Surgeon

Galmi Hospital - Niger — Currently Galmi Hospital, which is run by SIM Mission Board, is located in the Sahara Desert and is isolated however, the staff is very friendly and the hospital serves almost the entire country. It has approximately 130 beds and is quite busy. After flying into Niamey, the capital of Niger, you will fly up to the hospital via a mission flight with SIM. Very family oriented but caution must be taken due to the extreme heat. Three weeks service is required. Two months notice is required for volunteers to serve.

The individual volunteer is responsible for all costs associated with the trip. World Medical Mission personnel will provide assistance in arranging all travel including international flights and in-country travel as well as any needed medical licenses, visas or permits.
