Why do I have to be a Christian to work at Samaritan’s Purse?
As a religious non-profit with the mission to help the hurting in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, everything we do at Samaritan’s Purse is directly or indirectly related to spreading the gospel. All employees participate in morning devotions/prayer time as part of their job. Each employee is regarded as an Ambassador of Jesus Christ in word and in deed.
Could I work for SP from home?
SP doesn’t offer work from home or telecommuting opportunities at this time.
Does SP hire applicants from other countries to work in the United States?
Only if they (already) have legal working status in the United States. We do not normally provide sponsorship for those seeking work visas or green cards.

When will a particular position start or what is the closing date for a particular position?
We do not work under closing dates. Positions are available to fill immediately (unless otherwise stated) and remain so until filled by the best-matched qualified candidate. We are prayerful about our hiring decisions and wait for guidance and direction in every situation.
How will I know a position has been filled?
The listing will promptly be removed from the website. If you participated in a face-to-face in interview or a phone interview, you will be contacted one way or the other as soon as the position has been filled.
Will I hear back from SP after I apply?
You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application. If and when you are invited for an interview, we will follow up with you directly.

Some job ads say, “Local applicants only.” What does this mean?
Normally we limit our search to local/area markets for all but mid- and upper-level professional and management positions. These positions do not allow for financial assistance with relocation.
Do you provide salary information to potential applicants?
We generally do not discuss salaries at least until an applicant is invited to interview. It is strongly advised that applicants list a salary or salary range within their ability to consider.
Do I need to complete multiple applications in order to be considered for more than one job?
One application is sufficient. You may include one or more cover letters mentioning the position or positions you are interested in.
How many people apply for the positions posted on the website?
For domestic positions we may receive several hundred applications for a single position. In the course of a year, we receive several thousand new applications. We strive to make sure every qualified applicant is considered.
What is an Associate position?
Associate staff are hired to fill temporary operating needs within the ministry. These positions are vital to the work of the ministry, but are for seasonal work and short-term project assignments.
What are the chances of Associate staff being hired into full-time Regular positions at Samaritan’s Purse?
Charlotte OCC and Mail & Data Processing Associates are hired for the OCC season. When the project ends, so does the temporary assignment. You may visit the SP web site to find out about opportunities in other locations. While working the OCC project does not guarantee consideration for other positions, it does offer you a chance to better understand the ministry work and give us the chance to get to know you.
What is Samaritan’s Purse’s relationship with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association?
We share the same President and CEO, Franklin Graham; however, we remain distinctly separate ministries, but share the same goals and objectives of spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
