THE GIFT OF CLEAN WATER
Your simple act of compassion can have a long-lasting impact.
These easy-to-maintain filters require no chemicals or electricity—just a natural process that removes harmful microorganisms and pollutants from water collected at a dirty pond or lake. And it only costs $100 to give a family a filter that lasts a lifetime. One father of eight said, “We used to get sick regularly. Now that we have the water filter, our health has improved. It is wonderful to have clean, cool water to drink.”
Suggested Gift: $100
Share in the Cost: Ask three friends to give $25 in addition to your gift of the same amount to install a filter for a family in need.
Day after day, 10-year-old Maria leaves her village in Mozambique long before dawn and walks more than six miles to draw water from a muddy pond. Her task is a common one for impoverished women and children across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. To help communities like Maria’s, Samaritan’s Purse establishes and repairs shallow wells, deep boreholes, and other sources of fresh water. A well can bring relief to hundreds of thirsty people for years to come.
Suggested Gift: $750
Share in the Cost: $50 provides a family with clean water for a decade.
Every hour, another 250 people in developing countries die from waterborne diseases caused by unclean water and poor sanitation. Your gift to our Clean Water Projects is an investment in an entire community, providing safe water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning. Working with local ministry partners, we offer a range of solutions from water treatment and storage systems to latrines and hygiene education. A gift of $8,000 can supply enough clean water for 3,000 people by providing a portable water purification unit or other sustainable resource. That's about $16 per family.
Suggested Gift: $8,000
Share in the Cost: $16 provides a family with clean water for five to 10 years.
You can be a part of the ripple effect by giving to our clean water projects and changing the lives of individuals, families, communities, and regions. Click here to give
