Children at the Greta Home and Academy received Christmas gifts from Fox News host Greta Van Susteren
Franklin Graham joined Fox News host Greta Van Susteren and her husband, John Coale, on Monday to distribute Christmas gifts to children at the Greta Home and Academy. The facility was constructed by Samaritan’s Purse following Haiti’s devastating January 2010 earthquake and named after Van Susteren because of her advocacy on behalf of the people of Haiti.
The Christmas gifts for the children were donated by Van Susteren. Samaritan’s Purse staff members shopped for the gifts and wrapped them in Haiti once they cleared customs.
After the festivities in Haiti, Van Susteren and Graham continued on to Ecuador to distribute Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts to children in impoverished communities. Many of the children live at the city dump; some face abandonment and abuse. The gifts gave hope to the children and provided our partners in Ecuador with a chance to share the Gospel with these children.
Van Susteren has hosted Fox New Channel’s “On the Record” since 2002, which is the highest-rated cable news program in its time slot. She has accompanied Graham on several trips and has reported on Samaritan’s Purse work in North Korea, Northern Iraq, South Sudan, Haiti, and Alaska.

At the celebration, Franklin explained to the children why we celebrate Christmas. He shared a message about the greatest gift we will ever receive–God sending His son, Jesus, for us. He then helped distribute stocking, including this one to Peňado.

These clowns performed for the children before they opened gifts. Through their performance, they shared the Gospel with more than 300 children at one of the Guayaquil city dumps.

Franklin Graham shared a message about God’s love with the children before they opened their gifts. He explained that families around the U.S. packed the gifts specially for each child.

These children live in the dump where they’re pictured. Their families are impoverished, so it’s likely that these are the only gifts they received for Christmas.
