
Anna Maria Young, born on July 26, 1951, in Butzbach, Germany, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by loving family and the many friends who became her chosen family.
Anna had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Whether someone had known her for years or had just met her, she had an extraordinary ability to connect with others in a way that made them feel like lifelong friends. She was known for her warm laughs, her genuine care, and especially for her unforgettable hugs, which brought comfort, joy, and a sense of home to so many. Above all, Anna treasured her family and the relationships she built throughout her life. Her love extended far beyond blood, embracing countless friends who became family through her compassion, generosity, and unwavering support.
Anna is survived by her devoted husband, George Washington Young; and her beloved children, Katharina Young and George Judd Young. She also leaves behind many cherished relatives, dear friends, and chosen family who will carry her memory and the love she shared with them throughout their lives.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026; visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with worship at 6:30 p.m. at Gospel Community Church. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her life, share memories, and celebrate the lasting impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though Anna’s presence will be deeply missed, her kindness, her welcoming spirit, and the love she so freely gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
