Connect Your Ministry

to Operation Christmas Child

Youth for Christ and Samaritan’s Purse go way back. Billy Graham was Youth For Christ’s first full-time evangelist in the mid-1940s. Today, his son, Franklin, leads Samaritan’s Purse, the international relief organization that Youth for Christ evangelist Bob Pierce started in 1970.

Youth for Christ and Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, continue to have a common focus—working with churches to reach young people and raise them up as followers of Jesus.

Youth for Christ strives to emulate Jesus’ example in Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” Operation Christmas Child provides an opportunity for your Youth for Christ ministry to do just that—to engage youth in serving those in need across the globe.

By packing shoeboxes full of toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other simple gifts, you can bring hope and joy to children in need around the world. Through partnerships with local churches, children who receive shoebox gifts hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of them participate in our follow-up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey, where they learn to follow Christ and share their faith with others.

Since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has delivered more than 146 million shoeboxes in over 100 countries. Your Youth for Christ ministry can have a direct part in giving children the good news and great joy of gift-filled shoeboxes.

Check out opportunities to serve short-term during the shoebox collection season. In November and December, your ministry can have fun serving together at a Processing Center, preparing shoeboxes for overseas shipment.
