Bongolo Hospital, Gabon, has ongoing needs for the following specialities: anesthesiology, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, ophthalmology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, pediatric surgery, and urology.

A basic proficiency in French is required for this position, since French is the primary language and charting is done in French.

The individual volunteer is responsible for the costs associated with the trip. World Medical Mission personnel will provide assistance in arranging all travel, including international flights, in-country travel, visas, permits, and/or medical licensing.

Volunteers fly into the capital city of Libreville. The following day, they fly local commercial airlines or a mission flight (if available) to the town of Mouila and then are driven two hours to Bongolo Hospital.

Bongolo Hospital is a 158-bed hospital located in Labemba, Gabon. There also is an HIV/AIDS treatment center and a busy outpatient department, which sees an average of 500 patients per week. Bongolo is family friendly with a mix of national and expatriate staff. It presently serves one third of the country’s population.
