Hospital Evangelico, Honduras

Hospital Evangelico was founded in 1949 in Siguatepeque, a town located in the central region of Honduras. It was founded by the Central American Mission (CAM International). In 1969 the hospital was transferred to national hands, becoming an autonomous national organization that is a fraternal member of the Association of Central American Churches of Honduras. The opening of Hospital Evangelico helped greatly in the development of Siguatepeque. This 50-bed hospital has gained much recognition in the local and national evangelical churches and for many years was the only hospital institution in the city. It is important to enhance the community work performed by the Hospital as it has a peripheral clinic that provides low-cost general medicine and dentistry services. Hospital Evangelico also supports a mobile unit that travels to 8 rural communities where comprehensive health. Through this, the hospital is reaching those most in need and whose access to healthcare is limited
