Church teachers learn more effective classroom techniques and receive supplies to boost their ministries

Lloyd Abrenica works with the Samaritan’s Purse ministry team in the Philippines. He recently interviewed two women who completed children’s ministry training with Samaritan’s Purse.

A Note from Lloyd: Children’s Ministry 101 training was used to show Sunday school teachers and leaders how to teach kids in their Sunday school ministries in their churches. The teachers learned songs, dance moves, and techniques and new ideas in managing children.

In the second part of the training, we distributed the Children’s Ministry kits. The kits contain curriculum and items like crayons, pencils, and bond paper. Most, if not all, of the local churches lost their Sunday school materials during Typhoon Yolanda.

Teachers at the training learned how to engage children in their Sunday school classes.

Testimony from Beam Ostaco, Sunday school teacher at Tacloban Light of God’s Glory Church:

We have 200 children living in the slums. I thank Samaritan’s Purse for this training and for the children’s ministry. We finally have new materials. It’s a great help for the children’s ministry.

Testimony from Monaliza Tabuclao, Sunday school teacher and pastor’s wife at Praise Christian Center of Jaro, Leyte:

I’m thankful that there was a seminar and that I was able to attend because I need more training in how to teach people and children. I learned a lot. We have been praying for materials, and now they have arrived. I thank God. Many kids will be helped and supported by these materials. Thank you for everything. I pray that God will bless you more, Samaritan’s Purse.
