Home Again and Praising God in Burnsville

A North Carolina couple praises God for their new home provided by Samaritan's Purse.

A mud slide caused severe damage to Max and Melanie Murphy’s mobile home when Hurricane Helene tore through their Burnsville, North Carolina, community.

“We didn’t know what we were going to do,” Melanie said. She was encouraged when a Samaritan’s Purse team arrived to check on them and saw the destruction.

“Before we knew it, Samaritan’s Purse approved us for a home,” Melanie said. “They began work on it, and it’s just been amazing what God has done through Samaritan’s Purse.”

Watch the video above to see the Murphy’s inaugural visit to their new mobile home.

Our rebuild team presented the Murphys with keys to their new residence at a recent dedication. Max was overjoyed and praised God as he walked through the dwelling for the first time.

“We could never thank Samaritan’s Purse enough for what they have done for us,” he said, “just for being obedient to the Father.”
