Forrest Edward Pitts, 82, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on July 12, 2022, at Duke University Hospital.
Forrest was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, on May 6, 1940. He graduated from Prestonsburg High School. Forrest was married to Joan Jones on July 14, 2007. They were married for 15 years.
Forrest worked as an electrician for over 30 years. He enjoyed architecture, traveling, D.I.Y. projects, and being with family and friends. He had been an active member in church, serving as a deacon and a song leader.
Forrest is survived by his loving wife, Joan Jones; daughter, Robin Pate, and husband, Keith; grandsons, Randall Pendergraft and Jadon Pate; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
Forrest is preceded in death by parents, Robert Lee Pitts and Roxie Mae Ousley Pitts; his first wife, Geraldine Pitts; and 11 brothers and sisters.
The celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on July 16, 2022, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 1703 E. Milbrook Road in Raleigh. Reverend Michael Wolf will be officiating, followed by interment at Oakwood Historic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the family home on Friday, July 15, from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
