Glenn Cooke, 72, a loving husband, and father, died May 6, 2023, after a short and intense battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He grew up in Norfolk and Chesapeake and lived for the last 45 years in Virginia Beach. Glenn graduated from Indian River High School in Chesapeake and worked for 33 years at Dominion Power in Norfolk. He was an active member at several churches over the years, Temple Baptist in Norfolk, Woodland Heights Baptist, Indian River Baptist in Chesapeake, and lastly, Suburban Christian in Virginia Beach.

For the past 28 years, Glenn has been an active participant in Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child Ministry. Individually and collectively, serving to fill and ship hundreds of shoebox gifts for needy children all the world over brought new meaning to his life. Knowing that he helped a child somewhere to know that someone loved them so much that they sent a gift just so that child could hear about God’s love was the reward.

Glenn leaves behind his wife, Lynn; children, Stephanie and her husband, Clyde, and Sean and his wife, Sarah; seven grandchildren, Tommy, Keith, Abby, Gracie, Liam, Evan, and Logan; and many friends and extended family members.

Glenn will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

The family invites you to a celebration of Glenn's life on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Suburban Christian Church, 5132 Bellamy Manor Drive, Virginia Beach.
