Janemaree Baker - Benson, NC

Mrs. Janemaree Segars Baker, 85, of Benson passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, at her home.

Janemaree was born December 15, 1937, in Sumter, South Carolina, the daughter of the late James Burrell and Connie Marie Hill Segars. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Baker; brothers, Randy Segars and Christopher Needham; and son-in-law, Leslie Swift.

Janemaree retired from several different occupations due to her diversified interests. She received a certificate of commendation while a telephone operator for assisting someone who was ill. She was also a published author of poetry and stories.

Janemaree loved the Lord and all animals, especially the sick ones. She was a member of the Bible study fellowship in Smithfield.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Antioch United Methodist Church 5289 US 701S Four Oaks, N.C. with the Rev. Walter Gaskins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Lauder Evans Hall, Jr. (Tammy) of Reidsville; daughter, Evamarie Hall (Daniel Clifton) of Benson, Betsy Weaver (Larry) of Norfolk, Virginia, Judy Swift of Cedarville, New Jersey, Willie Baker (Scherrye) of Chesapeake, Virginia, Lisa Singleton (Hank) of Louisiana; brother, Steve Segars (Maria) of Alabama; sister, Cookie Watson of Rocky Mount; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at the church following the service.
