Remember a Veteran
Operation Heal Our Patriots is the Samaritan’s Purse ministry to military couples with a spouse injured or wounded in combat operations after 9/11. As staff and volunteers extend God’s healing love to these men and women, relationships are being restored and many are trusting in Christ for the first time.
Each year 150 couples are flown to Port Alsworth, Alaska, for weeklong retreats where retired military chaplains lead marriage enrichment classes, provide daily devotions, and offer counseling. While visiting America’s final frontier, husbands and wives also explore the surrounding wilderness together through kayaking, hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The year-round aftercare program of Operation Heal Our Patriots, which includes an annual reunion, prayer support, and personal contact, encourages couples to grow relationally and spiritually.
