Six wounded Army heroes and their spouses recently spent time at Samaritan Lodge Alaska enjoying outdoor activities surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Alaska wilderness. The couples enjoyed a time of relaxation and rejuvenation, while focusing on each other and strengthening their marriages. During the week, an amputee and his wife climbed a mountain peak, a wounded Army sergeant was baptized in Lake Clark, and all the couples enjoyed a time of bonding and sharing stories around the fire pit at night. Operation Heal Our Patriots: First Attendees

The first group of wounded military personnel and spouses to visit Samaritan Lodge Alaska enjoyed fishing, hiking, and the beautiful Alaska scenery. Most of all, they appreciated the opportunity to get away for a week and to spend time with each other. They had the opportunity to grow closer as a couple while attending marriage enrichment classes. Throughout the summer, Samaritan’s Purse will share God’s healing love with more heroes who have been wounded or injured while fighting to keep us free. View Gallery
