A North Carolina man praises God for his new mobile home provided by Samaritan’s Purse.

The gentle stream that runs along Chris Christenbury’s property in Vilas, North Carolina, turned into a raging torrent when Hurricane Helene swept through the area in September 2024. It engulfed his home and made it unlivable.

“The chaos that ensues after a disaster like this is unmanageable by the people that it’s happening to,” Chris said. “I needed help.”

The next day, Chris saw Samaritan’s Purse volunteers cleaning up damaged houses and yards. He soon learned about our rebuild program and was approved for a new home. Recently, he received the keys to it.

“Samaritan’s Purse was on top of everything, helping people get their lives back together,” Chris said as he walked through his new mobile home. “God is good. God is good.”

Please continue to pray for those who are still recovering from the storm and for our rebuild teams as they serve in Jesus’ Name. Learn more about how to volunteer with U.S. Disaster Relief and Rebuild.
