Samaritan’s Purse Responds in Illinois After Midwest Tornadoes

April 18, 2026 • United States
Volunteers present a special Billy Graham Training Center Bible and pray with a homeowner in Lena.

We are responding in Lena, Illinois, to help communities clean up in the wake of a dangerous storm system that spawned tornadoes.

Volunteers are already hard at work in Lena, Illinois, where an EF-2 tornado touched down damaging roofs and uprooting trees.

Our volunteers are working out of our base of operations at our host church, Lena Evangelical Free Church in Lena.

VOLUNTEER IN ILLINOIS

Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief Unit #3 departed our Wilkes Office and Warehouse in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, April 18. Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains are also on hand in communities offering emotional support and spiritual encouragement from God’s Word.

Please pray for this hurting community and for our teams as they serve residents in Jesus’ Name.
