Carl was born on June 1, 1938, in Douglas, Texas, to Willis Woodrow and Mary (Ellis) King and went to be with the Lord on August 5, 2025, in Tyler.

As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Carl lived a life of joyful purpose, deeply rooted in his love for the Lord and the people he was called to serve.

As co-owner of King Masonry, Carl built more than structures, he built relationships, trust, and a lasting presence in the community. His craftsmanship was matched only by his dedication to ministry. Ordained and Spirit-led, Carl shared his heart through music as a part-time minister of music at First Baptist Church Bullard, Gresham Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Whitehouse, and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Whitehouse.

Carl’s calling extended far beyond church walls. He was a passionate volunteer church builder, bringing hope and hands-on help to communities in Belize, Brazil, South Africa, and Mozambique. Whether across oceans or within East Texas, he tirelessly led local mission projects with humility and grace.

His legacy is carried on in the lives he touched, the churches he helped grow, and the songs of worship he led. Carl’s journey was one of unwavering devotion and quiet strength. He will be remembered not only for what he built, but for what he gave.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 65 years, Ann King; and sister, Billie Williamson.
