Delores Ilse Rousar (née Kunze)
May 12, 1933 – September 8, 2025
Delores “Del” Ilse Rousar, née Kunze, entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on May 12, 1933, the beloved daughter of Kurt and Theresa Kunze.
Del’s career reflected her dedication, integrity, and entrepreneurial spirit. After studying for two years at the Business Institute of Milwaukee, she began her career managing Nowak of Milwaukee Jewelry Store. Victor Nowak, the original owner, retired after selling the business to Del. She served her loyal customers with care and professionalism. After her marriage to Jerry Rousar in 1975, he joined her as her partner in the store. They worked side by side, building lasting relationships with their customers and making the business a trusted part of the community.
Del and Jerry’s marriage was a partnership in every sense—rooted in faith, love, and fellowship. They shared 12 years together until Jerry’s passing in 1987. Beyond their work, they enjoyed traveling, entertaining family and friends, and supporting Jerry’s barbershop quartet, which brought joy to so many.
A devoted daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Del cherished her family deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry; her parents Kurt and Theresa Kunze; her sisters Rosemary (Michael), Joan (Charles), and Dorothy (the late Wyman); and her brothers Kurt Jr. and Paul (the late Crystal). She is survived by her sister Nancy (the late John). She was adored by her nieces and nephews Lauren (Wayne), Stephanie, Kim (Thad), Cindi (Jim), Johnny (Marta), Candice (Art), Cheryl (Jeffrey), Chuck (Heidi), Michael, Greg (Patti), and Christopher (Christina), along with many great-nieces, and great-nephews and dear friends who will remember her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Church and Chapel Funeral Home in New Berlin on Sunday, September 21. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. and is followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. Christian burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park on Monday, September 22, at 10:00 a.m.
Del’s life was one filled with faith, family, friendship, and service to others. She will be remembered for her kindness, her joyful spirit, and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
