George Wilbert Johnson III, 85, of Spring Hill, Florida (formerly of Naperville, Illinois) passed away August 3, 2025. A celebration of life will be scheduled in 2025 in the Florida area.

George was born on September 26, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to his parents George Jr. and Helen Johnson.

George grew up in Brightwood, Virginia. He graduated from Kings Bible College with an undergraduate degree in biology. He married his wife, Linda, on February 6, 1965. George and Linda were blessed with three children, David, Paul, and Stephen. George served honorably for six years in the Army. George dedicated over 30 years to public service, working diligently at the Internal Revenue Service.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George Jr. and Helen Johnson, his brothers, David Johnson, Gary Johnson, Paul Johnson, his daughter-in-law, Jeannine Johnson, and his in-laws, Eugene and Faye Clayton.

George is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Johnson, his children David (Kelly) Johnson of Boca Raton, Florida; Paul Johnson of Kearney, Missouri; Steve (Angeline) Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
