Gibson Oneal Fallaw - Monetta, SC

Oneal, affectionately known as “Judge” went to his heavenly home Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Oneal attended Monetta Elementary School and graduated from Ridge Spring-Monetta High School in 1961. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1985 as a Fire Protection Specialist, Aircraft Crash and Rescue, and retired as a Master Sergeant. While serving in the Air Force, he continued his education and graduated from the Air Force Community College, earning a degree in Business Management.

In 1990, he acquired the title of “Judge” when he was appointed to serve as a Summary Court Magistrate for Aiken County in the Monetta/Oak Grove District while also serving in Bond Court and Traffic Court. Judge Fallaw served in this capacity until his retirement in 2014. Judge Fallaw was also heavily involved in his community as co-founder of Grace Baptist Church in Monetta, where he also served as chairman of the bus ministry from 1981-1992. Before his appointment as Magistrate, he served as the Aiken County Republican Party Committeeman to the State of South Carolina from 1984-1990, served as District One Representative on the Aiken County Council from 1987-1988, and as Judge for the 2nd Judicial Circuit’s Juvenile Arbitration Program from 1994-2004. Judge Fallaw also served as a Deacon for Grace Community Church in Batesburg from 1992-2003 and was a current member of Cedar Creek Church on the Ridge in Batesburg.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Beverly J. Fallaw (Mrs. Debbie); children, Kenneth E. Fallaw (Judy), Cynthia F. Fox (Hubert); grandchildren, Kimberleen F. Askew (Shayne), Monica F. Smith (Travas), Justyn Fox, Conner Fox; great-grandchildren, Brigham Smith and Arlyn Fox; siblings, Cornelia Murray (Bruce), James Fallaw, Thomas Fallaw (Sherry), Andrew Fallaw (Velma), Randall Fallaw, and Nancy Simoneau (Bill).

Judge was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Gibson O. Fallaw, Sr. and Ethel D. Fallaw, and sisters, Sylvia Holsenback and Sandra Burgess.

Memorial Service with special recognition from area Fire Departments and full Military Honors for The Honorable Gibson O. Fallaw, Jr., 82, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Barr-Price Funeral Home Batesburg-Leesville Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
