John “Jerry” Tregembo - Daisytown, PA

John Gerald “Jerry” Tregembo, 88, of Daisytown died July 27, 2025 peacefully in his home. He was born in 1936 in Monongahela, the son of John Wilbur and Dorothy Elizabeth Schumann Tregembo.

Jerry was a member of The Bible Chapel in McMurray. He retired from State Farm Insurance after 52 years as an agent in Monongahela. He was a graduate of Monongahela High School Class of 1954. He received a BA in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. He was on active duty for six months and spent seven years in the US Army Reserves. He retired as Captain of the Civil Affairs Unit.
Jerry was a member and past president of the Monongahela Lions Club, Western Pennsylvania Trap Shooting League, The Mon Valley Trap Shooters, and the Charleroi Archery Club; a member of the Centerville Boro Sportsmen’s Association, Christian Bow Hunters of America, Steel Town Corvette Club, Professional Bow Hunters Society, American Legion Post 705 in Centerville, and Kappa Sigma Fraternity; and a lifetime member of the NRA and Golden Eagles.

Jerry was a longbow hunter who preferred traditional archery methods. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed collecting coins. Jerry treasured vacations with his family. The driving force in his life was his personal relationship with Jesus. He had a servant heart and wanted everyone to experience the incredible love of God. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering devotion to his family, and being a born-again Christian. His strong faith in God guided him throughout his life. His kindness and warmth will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Letty Aileen (Gillingham) Tregembo; four children, Daniel Brian Tregembo of Monongahela, John Randall “Randy” Tregembo and wife, Eva (DeVore), of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Andrew Thomas Tregembo and wife, Mollie (Cupper), of Suwanee, Georgia, Carrie Lynn Dworek and husband, Dr. Donald, of Williamsport; grandson, Matthew Andrew Tregembo of Suwanee, Georgia; two stepgrandchildren, Autumn (Watkins) Carlos and husband, David, and Mariah Viglianco both of Cumberland, Maryland; step great granddaughter, Sophia Carlos; brother, Barry Tregembo and wife, Jackie (Thomas), of Belle Vernon; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ann Bauer; brother-in-law, Donald Bauer.
