Shirley Anne (Adams) Burkett, 86, of Lansdale, died Friday, November 8, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Rev. Harold E. Burkett, her husband of nearly 65 years. Born February 23, 1938, in McIlhaney, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Florence (Stalder) Adams.

Shirley graduated from Chestnuthill High School in 1956 and East Stroudsburg University in 1960 to become an elementary school teacher. Afterwards, she supported her husband through seminary and worked as a homemaker and childcare provider. Shirley was a lover of flowers, quilting, reading, and the children she took care of.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three beautiful children, Loreen Marae Burkett (Hans Shore) of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Janell Burkett Ernst (John IV) of Lansdale, and Daryl E. Burkett (Leonora) of Lansdale; and four grandchildren, John James Ernst V, Anika E. M. Ernst, Joseph E. Radakovitz (Maria), and Dylan S. Burkett.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Burkett; and five brothers, Hobart, Lawrence, Richard, Ronald, and Wayne.

Relatives and friends may call between 9:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Sanctuary United Methodist Church, 1346 E. Prospect Avenue, North Wales, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in Green Ridge Union Cemetery, McIlhaney. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
