Steven (Stevie) Michael Nodiff, 33, of St. Louis, Missouri, was taken from us on April 23, 2026. His beautiful soul is now with Jesus.
Steven was born on August 6, 1992, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Steve Nodiff and Seana (Wasser) Allen. At just 1-year-old, Steven was diagnosed with a hearing impairment and attended St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, where he learned to speak until the age of 6. An incredibly bright child, he went on to mainstream into the Rockwood School District, attending Woerther Elementary, Selvidge Middle School, and graduating from Marquette High School in 2011.
Steven had a passion for travel and exploration. He spent hours studying the world on Google Earth, fascinated by distant places and landscapes. He loved his family deeply, cherished all creatures great and small, and found joy in water sports and riding his bicycle.
Despite additional diagnoses of Tourette syndrome, Asperger’s syndrome, and later retinitis pigmentosa (a second component of Usher syndrome), Steven could do just about anything he set his mind to. He was known for his resilient spirit—one that never gave up.
Steven was truly a friend to all, with a heart of gold. His big, blue-eyed, brilliant smile could melt the coldest heart, and his laughter was contagious. He brought warmth, kindness, and light wherever he went. Steven completed coursework at St. Louis Community College before choosing to pursue his passion for travel and adventure.
He hiked the Grand Canyon, climbed Pikes Peak, and stood atop Angel’s Landing—experiences that reflected both his courage and his love of the natural world. He made multiple trips to the Smoky Mountains, capturing breathtaking photographs, including views from the top of Clingmans Dome.
Steven also had a servant’s heart. In 2011, he worked with Samaritan’s Purse in Joplin, Missouri, helping with disaster relief efforts following the devastating tornado. He was honored to be part of bringing help and hope to those in need.
He loved the open road and the quiet beauty of the countryside. In one remarkable journey, he rode his bicycle from St. Louis to Nashville, Tennessee, taking side roads along the way and documenting the entire adventure through photographs. Some of his proudest and most cherished moments were attending his sister’s wedding in the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and the births of his nieces, whom he loved dearly.
Steven is survived by his father, Steve Nodiff of St. Louis, Missouri; his mother, Seana (Wasser) Allen and her husband Shane Allen of Eureka, Missouri; his sisters, Marissa Tucker (Samuel) of Ballwin, Missouri, and Cassie Nodiff of Ballwin, Missouri; his grandparents, Joseph and Rhonda Wasser of Gray Summit, Missouri, Elaine McConnell (James) of Greenville, Illinois, and Stan Kelton of Fenton, Missouri; as well as his beloved nieces, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and spirit.
Steven’s life was a testament to perseverance, courage, and love. Despite the challenges he faced, he met the world with determination, curiosity, and an open heart. He saw beauty in the world and pursued it with passion—whether through travel, adventure, or simply the connections he made with others. He had a rare gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His love for his family ran deep, and the memories he created will be treasured forever.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Steven is at peace, held in the presence of Jesus—now able to hear, to see, and to experience complete healing and joy. We trust that he is surrounded by perfect love, peace, and acceptance, and that his light will continue to shine in all who knew and loved him.
