In Memory Of
Trudy Darlene Massicot Charrier - Kenner, LA

Trudy Darlene Massicot Charrier, 71, was reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Feb. 16, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Trudy was an outstanding wife, mother, and homemaker to her family. She had a big heart and enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and singing hymns, interior design, and lots of shopping. She enjoyed participating in church activities, including choir, teaching Vacation Bible School, and giving to God's Kingdom's work around the world.

Trudy was born on Oct. 28, 1949, in New Orleans and grew up in Metairie. She met Floyd Charrier in 1961 when he joined Lakeside Baptist Church. It was there that they both made professions of faith and became believers and followers of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Floyd knew instantly that she would be his soulmate one day. Through thick and thin, from job changes, several moves, and tragic events, their love never wavered. Along the way, they made many fond memories, including traveling around the world, despite her fear of flying.

Her strong will to live, her unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of so many have carried her through the last ten years as she battled the effects of Lewy Body Dementia. She received the best care that money could not buy: the love and devotion of her husband and primary caregiver, Floyd.

She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 51 years, Floyd R. Charrier, Jr., and her four devoted children: Mindy Charrier Powell (Tommy), Jeffrey Charrier (Yvette), John Charrier (Temi), and Aimee Charrier. She was adored by her seven grandchildren and was affectionately known by them as "GiGi": Joshua Powell, Katie Charrier, Bradley Charrier, Andrew Charrier, Kate Charrier, Karly Charrier, and Lakelyn Charrier. She is also survived by her brother, David F Massicot, Jr. (Chasity), and a host of nephews and niece. Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, David F. and Bavel G. Massicot, and her sister, Janice Massicot Davenport.

A very special thank you to all the various outside caregivers and hospice service providers. Relatives and friends, as well as members of Williams Boulevard Baptist Church, are invited to attend the funeral services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., and interment will be in the Garden of Memories Mausoleum.
