She followed the teachings of Jesus Christ with a gentle heart, letting her faith guide her daily life.
Twyla was a gifted artist, creating breathtaking works in oil and watercolor that captured the beauty of nature and landscapes. Twyla also used her artistic talents to enrich her community, designing and building stage sets for school and church plays, encouraging young performers to give their best. She loved teaching art to grade school students, helping them create murals and even guiding them through the Junior Great Books program to publish their own stories and poems.
In addition to her creativity, Twyla had a beautiful singing voice. She was a dedicated member of her church choir and performed in a trio with two dear friends, as well as in duets with her daughter during Sunday services and special events across the area.
Her love for animals was profound, and throughout her life, she rescued numerous dogs, cats, birds, and other creatures in need. She also cared for horses, many of which belonged to her daughter, actively participating in the lessons and shows that were such an important part of her daughter’s life. Twyla’s compassion for animals extended to every living being in need, offering care to creatures both large and small.
