Blessed Are the Meek Family

August 18, 2025 • United States

Meet one couple Samaritan’s Purse served in our San Angelo, Texas, flood response.

Robert and Alva Jean Meek had seen nothing like it. The July floods that swept through their San Angelo, Texas, property, purchased back in 1975, devastated them as well as the community as a whole.

In response to this disaster, over 870 Samaritan’s Purse volunteers have worked on more than 215 homes so far in the community. We are hauling out damaged drywall, salvaging belongings, and spraying mold preventative. The Meeks are grateful to be one of those families we’ve been able to help in Jesus’ Name.

Watch the brief video above to hear this couple’s personal story.

We praise God for 45 decisions for Christ in the San Angelo area since this response began.
