Volunteers are working in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana, helping clean up in Jesus' Name after powerful storms, spawning multiple deadly tornadoes, swept across the Midwest.

As our work continues in tornado-devastated southern Michigan, we are deploying to communities in Kakakee County, Illinois, and Newton County, Indiana, after a recent outbreak of tornadoes spawned by a supercell thunderstorm that barreled across the region on Tuesday, March 10.

North American Disaster Relief is working with local church partners who maintain Samaritan’s Purse disaster relief vehicles in the region. We will send out teams of local volunteers into the affected areas. Billy Graham chaplains will also be on hand in neighborhoods to provide care and support to residents. Check back here or at spvolunteer.org for more details on volunteer opportunities in Indiana and Illinois as they become available.

We are working in multiple states and communities cleaning up after multiple tornadoes.

Thank you for your continued prayers for all those affected and for teams as they assist these hurting communities and share the hope of Christ.

Michigan Work Continues

Samaritan’s Purse volunteers are helping communities clean up in southwestern Michigan communities after a powerful storm spawned multiple tornadoes that touched down in St. Joseph and Cass counties damaging hundreds of homes across the area.

A North American Disaster Relief Unit departed our Wilkes Office and Warehouse in North Carolina on March 7. Volunteer teams began working Sunday, March 8, from our base of operations at our host church: Riverside Church at 207 East Michigan Ave in Three Rivers.

SIGN UP TO SERVE MICHIGAN HOMEOWNERS

Volunteers are helping homeowners in Jesus’ Name, cleaning up fallen trees and debris and sharing the hope of the Gospel with hurting residents.

Billy Graham Rapid Response chaplains are also working in the area to offer emotional support and spiritual care to homeowners.

Please be in prayer for the families affected by this tornado and for safety and God’s guidance for our teams as they assist these hurting communities and share the hope of Christ.

Samaritan’s Purse is also still working in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana helping residents clean up after a massive winter storm. Volunteers are urgently needed. Please go to spvolunteer.org to serve.
