Water Filters Protect from Sickness

A family regains health after receiving clean water from Samaritan’s Purse

Tun Moa lives in northwestern Cambodia with five children.

All the water sources in my village are unclean. My family used to have typhoid, stomachaches, and vomiting during dry season. The pond, lake, and canal mostly dried up, and the bottom of these water sources is dirty and brown. Some people keep rainwater jars, and they would drink from those because they think it’s clean, but that water isn’t safe.

Samaritan’s Purse came to my village, and I joined their program. Hygiene staff members, who gave me a water filter, trained me. I feel happy now. I have observed in the three months since I’ve been using the water filter that our typhoid, stomachaches, and diarrhea are gone. I’m thankful for people who have compassion by donating and to Samaritan’s Purse for their work.
