Hurricane Melissa Response
Samaritan’s Purse is responding to Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and has deployed disaster relief specialists, critical supplies, and aircraft to the island nation. The Category 5 storm is the strongest ever to strike the island, leaving widespread devastation in its wake. Our teams have sent cargo planes with shelter tarps, solar lights, medical supplies, water filtration systems, and other urgently needed items to help meet needs for shelter, water, hygiene, food, and medical care. As needs on the ground continue to emerge, Samaritan’s Purse is committed to responding in Jesus’ Name.
