Today we celebrate the life of Charles Edward Anderson Sr., who joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven Thursday, April 3, 2025.
The second of five children, Charles was born to the late Benjamin and Mary Anderson on September 20, 1940, in New Market, Iowa.
Whether you knew Charles by his given name or Charlie, Chuck, Ed, Eddy, Andy, C.E., Dad, Papa, you knew he loved Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was faithful to follow, obey, and share his faith with others.
His absence is deeply felt by his family: the love of his life and wife of 64 years, Janice, and his pride and joy, children Jennifer (Marc) Bossert, Charles “Andy” Jr. (Linda) Anderson, Jeff (Carolyn) Anderson, Jacque (Mike) Axelrad, and Jessica (Emosi) Drauniivilevu.
Charles and Janice have seventeen grandchildren: Janelle (Tim) Robertson, Vanessa (Bjorn) Amundsen, Levi Bossert, Luke (Larissa) Bossert, Jordan Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Daniel (Kynsi) Anderson, Payton Anderson, Austin (Doyun) Anderson, Reid (Izaskun) Anderson, Aaron (Andrea) Anderson, Joni Anderson, Karissa (Carl) Goding, Ryan Axelrad, Marcella Axelrad, and Jared Axelrad. Charles was preceded in death by his granddaughter Katelyn Anderson. They also have thirteen great grandchildren: Lachlan, Thorin, Eowyn, Cadence, Isaac, Foster, Leon, Jane, David, Joshua, Jonathan, and two more on the way.
We have lost a wise, witty man of God, as well as a powerful prayer warrior. Our peace comes from knowing Charles is enjoying being in God’s presence and that we will see him there when it’s our time.
