Clark Vencill - Amarillo, TX

Clark Vencill, 84, of Amarillo and formerly of Pampa, passed away on April 10, 2024, in Amarillo.

A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Danny Logan, a former family pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The family will receive friends from 4:00–5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Clark was born May 20, 1939, in Harlingen, Texas to Gregory and Mary Vencill. Clark would grow up and graduate school in Weleetka, Oklahoma. After high school, he would attend college for a few years before he entered the oil and gas industry. He worked in oil and gas until 1985, then he began his commercial trucking career that lasted until his retirement. While living in Pampa, he met Lana Brock, and they married in June 1984. They shared many good years in Pampa before they relocated to Amarillo.

Clark was a devout Christian man who loved his Lord, gospel music, especially the Gaither Vocal Band, and was a member of the Church at Quail Creek. Clark will be remembered as a loving husband, Daddy, Poppy, brother, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Keith Vencill; and by an aunt, Dorothy “Dot” Bowman.

Clark is survived by his wife, Lana Vencill of the home; two daughters, Michelle (Matt) Moore of Kelton, and Amy Williamson of Amarillo; a son, David Vencill and fiancée Tilly Frambes of Newnan, Georgia; four grandchildren, Liz Moore, Tanner (Rachael) Stevens, Emma Stevens, and Perry Williamson, all of Amarillo; a brother, Martin (Susan) Vencill of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
