
David Walker Dawkins, 54, passed away peacefully in his home in Hoschton, GA, on Monday, September 27, 2021. Born in Atlanta, GA, on January 14, 1967, David was the only son and youngest child of Robert Austin Dawkins and Edith Walker Dawkins. He and his wife, Paula, had two daughters, Victoria and Jessica. David was a beloved father, brother, and friend.
He was also a passionate “car guy” from a very young age. He loved racing, working on cars, and was well known for building powerful engines. He was an outstanding and talented machinist, who would often say how lucky he was to have a job he loved. During his career, he worked at several machine shops in the Atlanta area.
David was known for consistently calling family members and friends to stay in touch. He called his parents every day. David had a great sense of humor and positive attitude. Telling jokes and laughing with family and friends were common activities for him. He always had an encouraging word for anyone who needed it and was known for his generous heart. David will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by his family and close friends.
David is preceded in death by his wife, Paula; daughter Jessica; mother and father, Robert and Edith Dawkins; and sister, Donna Glover (Jack). He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Dawkins; sister, Robyn Marshall (John); and aunt, Dale Moss (C.W.).
A celebration of his life will be held on November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at 12Stone Church – Braselton Campus, 2675 Old Winder Hwy, Braselton, GA 30517, with the Reverend C. W. Moss officiating.
