Donald E. Whipple was born August 31, 1925, and was raised on a farm in Beeler, Kansas. He died May 14, 2025, at the age of 99, in Aurora, Colorado.

He was an Iwo Jima Marine Corp Veteran of World War II.

A director of Youth for Christ in Denver, Singapore, and Minneapolis, Donald also pastored four churches as senior or interim pastor. He developed a K-12 Christian School in one of the churches and worked as an associate pastor in the last church. In most of his later years, he worked with returning combat veterans.

He loved Jesus Christ, and his main purpose in life was to tell others of the Good News. He came to know the Lord during the Marine Corps, in preparation to land on the Island of Iwo Jima, at the age of 18, through the witness of a fellow Marine.
