Joella "Jodie" Williams - Phoenix, AZ

Joella "Jodie" Williams passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. A 45-year resident of Prescott, Arizona, had lived in Phoenix, Arizona, for the past 11 years. Jodie was known for her love of family, her service to veterans, and the community through her career in nursing, but most of all her love of Jesus Christ her Savior.

She is survived by her son, Andy; daughters, Lisa Sisco (David), Susan Henry (Nathan), and Sharon Rendon (Chris); 11 grandchildren, Marissa and Tyler Ross, Haley Williams and Kelsey Williams, Nathanael and Noah Rendon, Kali and Brock Dandos, Karis and Noah Pulido, and Sean Sisco; and three great-grandchildren, Joanna, Ethan and Zackary, the newest members of her legacy. Her extended family includes Jodie’s sister, Sheila Jeffers, and several nieces, great nephews, and great nieces. Her sister Jerry Knight and parents Roy J. and Sybil Avis Lyons predeceased her.

With great tenacity, Jodie earned her associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees in nursing as a nontraditional student. In 1979, she became employed at the Veterans Administration in Prescott and served in many capacities for more than 35 years. She served the Arizona Nurses Association, Chapter 5 of Prescott, Arizona, and served through the Dress A Child program, which she directed for many years. In 1990, Jodie was recognized as Outstanding Alumna of the Year from Yavapai College. Many years of service to the Arizona Nurses Association as chapter president and board member resulted in the prestigious Lifetime Member Award. She loved nursing!

Jodie came to know Christ in a personal way as a teenager in Bisbee, Arizona. She has walked faithfully throughout her life serving others because of her personal faith in Jesus. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Prescott for many years. She enjoyed leading the prayer chain at her retirement community in Phoenix. She participated in a weekly prayer group for more than 40 years, in-person and by telephone.

We invite you to celebrate this life that was filled with service, joy, and love, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The service and reception following will be held at Black Mountain Baptist Church, 33955 N. Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, Arizona.
