In Memory Of
Kathy Hughes-Danforth - Marietta, GA

Kathleen Hughes-Danforth, beloved mother to three children, 64, passed away suddenly, but without any suffering, on October 11, 2024.

She was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1960 to Janice Tufts Hughes and Albert W. “Nick” Hughes, having the chance to live in Atlanta, Georgia, Tokyo, Japan, and Winnetka, Illinois, before returning to Atlanta long-term. Kathy attended The Westminster Schools in Atlanta and graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in Human Resource Management.

Kathy was a devoted mother to David, Cody, and Jason. There was nothing in this world she loved more than family and being a mother to her boys. She took the utmost pride and joy in being a supporter of her family above all else, a role she succeeded in beyond compare.

Kathy was a brilliant and studious woman, with a professional past in counseling and Human Resources, and a fierce passion for researching health and wellness. She was intuitive and attentive to the needs of those around her, but, above all else, she was selfless and kind. The empathy and care she held for her friends and loved ones could be felt with an absolutely unparalleled gentleness and sincerity. She wanted the very best for everyone she ever met.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Janice and Albert Hughes, and is survived by her husband, David Danforth; her brother, Thomas Hughes; and her three boys, David, Cody, and Jason, who will never forget the love she held for them or the lessons of kindness she granted them.
