Larry Odelius' greatest joy was being the Operation Christmas Child Area Coordinator of Montgomery County North, Texas. He enjoyed telling churches, groups, and individuals about the shoebox ministry and encouraged them to fill boxes for children in need.

He was able to attend a shoebox distribution in Namibia several years ago. He saw firsthand how the love of Jesus was shared with children in need. He signed his correspondence with his trademark, "TO GOD BE THE GLORY."
