In Memory Of
Mrs. Earl Wilson Albright - Sagaponack, NY

Mrs. Earl Wilson Albright, 95, of Sagaponack, New York, passed away on the Lord's Day, February 19, 2023, peacefully in her home. Barbara Brown Albright was born in Flatlands, Brooklyn, to Alice and P. Allen Brown on October 2, 1927.

She attended Midwood High School and graduated in 1945. She began the nurses' training program at Prospect Heights Hospital but soon learned that her petite frame would not be beneficial to the rigors of nursing. Though she did work as a nurse's assistant for Dr. Duncan MacPherson and assisted with office surgeries until she met and married her late husband, Earl Albright. They were married on July 19, 1952, and they had six children. They were married for 53 years until Earl's passing on September 12, 2005.

Barbara enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years, as well as, leading the Pioneer Girls, and being an active member of the Christian Women's Club here on the East End. She enjoyed being a homemaker, wife and mother, and later becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother. Barbara would spend many an hour creating sewing crafts such as crewel embroidery, knitting, and crocheting, as well as making all her children's clothing and cooking and baking from scratch. At the age of 70, she co-authored her first book, along with Carolyn Halsey, Sagaponack, Then and Now, a historical look into her town. The one thing that she would like for friends and family to remember is that she had a joyous spirit and a happy heart because of the love that she had for our Savior and that the Lord blessed her life.

Barbara is survived by her six children, Cheryl and Thomas Shapter of Derby, New York, Timothy and Carol Albright of Palm City, Florida, Desiree Albright Kehoe of East Hampton, New York, Jamie and Stephen Hart of Valatie, New York, Earl Wilson and Sheri Albright of Kernersville, North Carolina, and Penny and Jim Bichsel of Henderson, Nevada; six grandchildren, Rachael and Kenny Duckett of Kennesaw, Georgia, Jonathan and Jenny Albright of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Jacqulene Albright-Kehoe of Nashville, Tennessee, Philip Albright of Palm City, Florida, Heath Albright of Kernersville, North Carolina, and Holly Albright of Kernersville, North Carolina; and six great-grandchildren, Adeline, Grayson and Easton Duckett, Wiley Bichsel, and James and Josiah Albright. She is also survived by her brother, Robert and Jill Brown of Allendale, New Jersey. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wilson Albright; and her son-in-law, Jack Kehoe.

Her funeral service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church on Montauk Highway in Watermill, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend David Johnson of Vernon Baptist Church officiating along with the Reverend Mark Middlekauff. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery on Edgewood Avenue, in Bridgehampton. Reception to follow at the Albright family home in Sagaponack. Brockett Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the numerous friends of their mother who have so lovingly, faithfully, and caringly visited, cared for, and done so many tasks throughout all the years of her widowhood. They cannot begin to thank each and every one of them for their generous gifts of their time, love, and support.
