Rhett Anthony Watson - Fair Oaks, CA

December 12, 1970 - April 18, 2020

 
Rhett Anthony Watson, 49, passed in his sleep at his home in Fair Oaks, California.  

He was born in Modesto, California, on Dec. 12, 1970, to Karen and Ronald Watson. He attended Amador High School and later received degrees at Sierra Junior College and California State University, Sacramento.  
 
Rhett worked and touched many lives as a clerk at Coast to Coast Hardware in Jackson, California; a Fire Fighter I for the California Department of Forestry in Nevada, Yuba, and Placer counties; manager at Sam’s Club in Rancho Cordova, California, and finishing his working career as a correctional sergeant at CSP-SAC in Folsom, California. 
 
Rhett grew up and loved his hometown of Sutter Creek, California. He loved sports and had a rewarding high school career as an offensive tackle. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and autographs, comic books, and antiques. He enjoyed all things related to Marvel Comics, the Michigan Wolverines, the Oakland A’s, and was a passionate fan of the Oakland Raiders. He traveled often with his family and loved watching his boys compete in sports.  
 
He was a loving and warm man with a huge heart and great sense of humor and wit. He honored his faith, loved his family, and valued his friends.
 
Rhett is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lora Watson, and their two sons Connor, 19, and Hayden, 16; mother, Karen Watson, and father, Ronald Watson; sister, Ronna Esparza, and brother, Rex Watson; grandmother, Anada Selby; aunts, Sharon Self and Diane Watson; and uncles, Dave Watson and Ralph Selby.
 
Rhett is predeceased by his grandmother, Lenore Watson; grandfather, Anthony Watson; grandfather, Ray Selby; and uncle, Gerald Watson. 
 
Due to the mandated quarantine, the graveside service will be private and a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. There will be an open viewing on April 30, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Price Funeral Chapel, ‪6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA.‬ We welcome anyone who wishes to attend. Please understand that due to COVID-19, only 10 people will be allowed inside at a time.
