In Memory Of
Susan Welch - West Caldwell, NJ

Susan A. Welch, 77, of West Caldwell, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 1, 2025.

Born and raised in Newark, Susan later made her home in Bloomfield and eventually settled in West Caldwell, where she lived for the past 45 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and prior to retirement, she worked diligently for the Risk Management Department at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for 25 years. But more than any title or profession, Susan was a servant of God. Her life was marked by unwavering faith, quiet strength, and daily devotion to God’s Word. A longtime member of Calvary Temple, she faithfully volunteered for numerous ministries and service teams. Her days began and ended in prayer and scripture, with a special love for the Psalms that comforted and guided her. Susan’s legacy is one of steadfast love, for her Savior, her family, and her church. She led by example, lived with grace, and walked in faith. She will be deeply missed but joyfully remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Pauline Lanzara. She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Welch; her devoted children, Kenneth Welch, Jr. and his wife Amy; and Tina Gmitro and her husband Drew; cherished grandchildren, Kenneth III (Jennifer), Hannah (Daniel Smith), Mikalah, Audrey, Alyssa, and Kyra; precious great-grandchild, Winston (Kenneth and Jennifer).

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life during visitation on Thursday from 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, New Jersey 07068. A funeral service honoring her life and faith will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple, Wayne, followed by interment at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, New Jersey.

As we grieve her passing, we do not grieve as those without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13), for we know she now dwells in eternal glory.
