Community Medical Outreach

Providing free medical, dental, and vision care in Jesus’ Name

This ministry of Samaritan's Purse works together with local churches to provide quality healthcare to underserved communities in the United States.

Our dental services include cleanings, fillings, and extractions, while our eye care tests for color vision, depth perception, astigmatism, and corrective lenses. Patients pick out their unique frames while their lenses are crafted on site. Upon completion, each pair of glasses is fitted to the patient. A full range of medical care is also offered complete with some prescriptions.

Our intent is to provide holistic care, addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of each patient.

Evelin Kembe traveled over four hours to visit a Community Medical Outreach where she was grateful to have her blood pressure and sugar levels monitored and also receive vision care. Her eyes had been bothering her, but without insurance, she had been unable to afford a checkup. She left the event with a new pair of glasses.

“I'm glad that I can see—it's less stress on my eyes. I can drive now. It feels like one less thing that's like stopping me from being able to do all the things that I want to do.”

While she awaited care, Kembe also had a conversation with a chaplain. “We started talking about God. He pulled out this New Testament Bible and was reading it with me.

“It's not easy to keep faith, it's not easy to keep hope, but I feel like God always sends people at the right time to make sure that you don't lose it.”
